The Germans executed members of the resistance here during WWII.

The Norwegian Resistance museum is here too. It's very powerful and worth the hour or so it takes to go through it. The pictures of Nazi soldiers walking through Oslo are very startling. All of the visitors were startled and shocked by pictures of Nazi troops walking in front of Parliament and Oslo University.
