The Alpha Beta on 17th street in Costa Mesa. This was a classic late 40's, early 50's 'supermarket'. The neon sign and the palm tree scream post-war SoCal.

This Alpha Beta was closed when Ralphs purchased the chain.

A house on Balboa Island.

Palm trees before a storm on Balboa Island.

The Balboa Saloon at night. The most eclectic and comfortable crowd in Newport. The anchor to any good Balboa pub crawl.

Note the bicycles out front. An obvious local joint.

My buddy Nils, posing for a recruiting poster at Gordian.

An early winter morning at the Balboa Pier. The sun is rising over the Laguna hills.

The Isthmus on Catalina Island.

Huntington State Beach lifeguard towers, hauled up for the winter.

The moon over Bay Island. Fashion Island is in the background on the left, Corona Del Mar off to the right. This was taken at the end of Island, where I lived for 5 years.

The Balboa Pavilion and the Catalina Flyer.

The middle harbor as seen from Anade.
